Maurice Orr
Born in England in 1953 and currently living and working in Ballymoney, Maurice Orr has been involved in exhibitions in locations ranging from Templepatrick to Oregon, Ballyclare to Australia and Belfast to Canada.
"I use oils and a palette knife to create works that have been interpreted as bringing nature to life. I am a representational painter but with an abstract slant. My landscapes are less an attempt to faithfully reproduce a particular place than to convey an ambience or an emotion. My paintings, which convey an atmospheric quality, encourage the viewer to look and explore the spirit of the landscape."
